Cleaning, Inspection & Replacement Schedules

Last Updated: 06/11/2025

Break-In Period

Your Platypus has a break-in period of approximately 100 rounds. During this time, the components will wear in and the firearm will reach optimal performance.

Clean and lubricate after the first 100 rounds, then follow the regular maintenance schedule below.

Cleaning & Lubrication Schedule

Basic Field Strip Cleaning

After every range trip or at reasonable intervals as needed, perform a basic field strip cleaning. Clean, inspect and lubricate.

Thorough Cleaning & Inspection (2000+ Rounds)

After every 2000 rounds, do a thorough cleaning of your firearm, look for excessive wear on frame, slide, and other components. Be sure to lubricate. After re-assembly check for any change in function.

If there are any problems or excessive wear, contact a gunsmith or customer service.
